Fire Sleeve – Silicone Coated Fiberglass Braided Sleeve

  • Material: Manufactured from E glass fiber yarn braided to a sleeve and coated with high-quality silicone rubber.
  • Uses: Protection for wires, cables, hoses from high ambient temperatures.
  • Operating Temperature: Continuous protection at 260°C, can withstand molten metal splash at 1200°C.

Standard Size and Pack

  • Inside Diameter: 4 mm to 152 mm.
  • Length: 15, 20, 30 mtr coils.
  • Colors: Red, orange, silver, black, blue, pink, yellow, purple.
  • Wall Thickness: 4 mm +/- 0.5mm.

Base Fiberglass Substrate

  • Fiber Type: E Glass.
  • Specific Gravity: 2.54-2.69.
  • Breaking Tenacity: 1.71 gf/TEX. Std. 1.71 gf/TEX Wet.
  • Tensile Strength: 450,000-500,000 psi.
  • Breaking Elongation: 4.81% std. 4.81 Wet.
  • Elastic Recovery: 100%
  • Effect of Heat: Will not burn; Retains 75% tensile at 343°C; Softens at 732-877°C; Melts at 1121-1182°C.
  • Effect of Acids and Alkalis: Fair resistance to acids, good resistance to most alkalis.
  • Effect of Bleaches and Solvents: Unaffected.

Silicone Rubber Coating

  • Durometer, Shore A: 35 initial, 45 aged 240 hours at 200°C.
  • Tensile Strength (psi): 875 initial, 800 aged 240 hours at 200°C.
  • Elongation %: 500 initial, 200 aged 240 hours at 200°C.
  • Flammability, UL94: V-1.
  • Dielectric Strength (volts/mil): 485.
  • tested range: 8.0-12.5kV.
  • Result: NEMA TF-1.
